Today is National Day of Honour, a tribute to all those who served in Afghanistan from Canada. 40,000 soldiers went into theatre in that benighted country, some made the ultimate sacrifice. We are grateful, thank you.
I am proud to say a relative of ours who is very close to me served there and returned safely for which I am eternally grateful.
Take a moment today to remember those who died, and their families.
A chap at the club had one of those maps that purport to show the so-called “Space Junk” that now surrounds the earth. To my way of thinking it screams, “What have we done?”.
I think the Canadian government has finally and collectively lost its mind. They have just announced that they will establish a WI-FI system in our national parks. All to boost tourism in some of the quietest places still left on earth.
I have had a bit of a tussle at the club because of my earlier musings about government employees and their golden pensions. Several mems having retired from the afore mentioned service took umbrage with most of my sentiment in the earlier post.
