May I ask the question of my female readers, that of :

Do you really approve of your men having beards?

I am curious because around this seaside burgh there appears to be an enormous number of hirsute male faces about. I recall that I did not enjoy having an uncle of mine rub his hairy face into my tender neck when I was but a boy, then why should women? But they must. Even with bits of debris and half eaten food scattered about their men’s stubbled faces.

What a day in Vancouver…Blessed sunshine and very warm for a heavy blazer and snug regimental tie. Over to the Vancouver Club for a slap up breakfast with no suggestion of a dry martini. I was asked to make a speech as usual and I had prepared a humdinger going by its reception.
